Our hemp in the paper industry

A LONG HISTORY

Even before the founding of LA CHANVRIERE, the hemp farmers in Aube supplied their hemp to a paper pulp factory, (Papeteries BOLLORE S.A.) in Troyes.
 The end of straw supply agreements was the trigger for building a fiber processing plant. In 1973, LA CHANVRIERE registered its statutes and its processing tool was launched in Bar sur Aube.

AN OPTIMIZED TOOL

Since this date, our plant in Bar sur Aube has kept up with technology, at the same time taking advantage of the technically advanced machinery available on the market, and above all, the expertise of our colleagues who have optimized yields.

To date, our decorticator plant processes the straw harvested at full capacity and with great care taken by our farmers by complying with their contractual commitment:

• Color,
• Humidity,
• Healthy condition,
• No plastic (the straw bales are tied with natural twine).
• The farmers check all the plots of land to prevent plastic pollution.

We obtain the best quality fibers (finesse, length, hemp shiv ratio) to meet the specifications of our paper producing customers.
