Any transformation of a natural raw material such as hemp inevitably generates “fines.” Essentially composed of organic materials (cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin), and low in moisture, these hemp fines naturally find their way in two directions that ultimately converge towards one goal: energy production.

GAS OR FLAMES

Methanization is one of these directions. When combined with other ingredients in a methanization facility, our product is appreciated for both its low moisture content and its methane-producing potential, generating more methane per ton of raw material than corn silage. LA CHANVRIÈRE is already involved in supplying this product to industrial methanization plants or agricultural-based facilities. Their operators have also recognized the value of this product, available year-round with a steady, high-quality supply.

The second path is energy production through the combustion of the product, which can only be managed by industrial biomass boilers.

To supply each of its markets, LA CHANVRIÈRE has high-performance equipment to extract these fines throughout the straw processing, making them available for the market according to customer specifications, either in bulk or compressed into “briquettes” or pellets.
